February Pin Board
It’s finally finished! My February pin board was completed last night. It is filled edge to edge with images that have inspired me over the last couple of weeks.
Once it is all pulled together, I would say it is an ode to the colors mauve/blue/yellows/deep chocolate brown/rust, feminine dresses, quilted quotes and knitted sweaters, dainty wallpapered interiors, embellished necklines, gorgeous updos, moody but organically shaped florals…all of the sweetest things.
I absolutely love all of the embellished necklines made with tufted fabric flowers, sequined bows, and delicately woven beading; they are all truly stunning. I love all of the soft feminine dresses that have puffy sleeves and billowing a-line bodices. I also am having a major crush on Mary Jane shoes and you can see several styles above. The patent blue platforms in the bottom left are my favorites and are so much fun.
There are a few peeks at some majolica style pottery which is in the shape of lettuce leaf bowls and teacups on there as well. The pink cup is from Tory Burch and the green bowl is vintage. I am having a moment with fruit and vegetable shaped pottery and picked up a strawberry pitcher and cabbage shaped bowl last weekend at an antique store.
A few other items I am loving right now that I put on there is a short handled crochet tote bag in the most beautiful color combination. I may ask my mom to work on a bag like this for her next crocheted project…she’s a genius at crocheting!
In celebration of Valentine’s Day, I had to include a few extra hearts on there. I love the golden yellow heart with the “I Am Better Than I Was” quote. The decorated heart in the upper left is especially inspiring me at the moment as it has the most delicate embroidery and is a religious antique from probably the early 1900s or late 1800s. I’ve seen them before in a store in CA and absolutely fell in love with them. I thought something like that would make an incredible brooch and I’ve found a few on Etsy that are actually vintage Catholic scapulars.
